A New Exhibit of Art in the Tea Room at the Woman’s Exchange Warms Visitors’ Hearts
No matter how the wind blows during this Memphis winter season, diners and visitors will be surrounded by heartwarming artworks in the Home & Heart exhibit in the Tea Room at the Woman’s Exchange of Memphis.
On display from January 6 through March 13, are eighteen artworks by ten local artists: Libby Anderson, Phyllis Boger, Martha Cook, Jana Jones, Randy Parker, Angela Stevens, Alicja Trout, Joe Umphress, Jana Wilson, and Carol Adamec. Their depictions of cozy rooms, comfy interiors, tabletop still lifes, front porches, country roads, and family pets are guaranteed to evoke feelings of “Home Sweet Home” in everyone. And for fun, Jana Wilson’s “Laundry Day” and “Sew Pretty”assemblages will bring forth smiles of delight at her witty and nostalgic arrangements of collected items. February 14th is also remembered by a selection of Valentine-themed artworks included in the show.
During the exhibit run, there will be an Artists’ Reception (date and time to be announced), offering the public the opportunity to meet and chat with the artists in the show. The event is free and light refreshments will be served.
Art in the Tea Room is a recent WE program intended to build awareness and provide support to working artists in the Memphis area. All artworks exhibited in Home & Heart are for sale and can be purchased to take home that day.
Artwork viewing is available during regular business hours—Monday through Friday, 10am-4pm, along with additional special events scheduled other days and times throughout the run of the exhibit.
